Privacy Policy — Contraction Timer

Contraction Timer (“the App”) is a free iPhone app that helps you time contractions and shows informational, UK NHS-aligned prompts about when to contact your midwife or maternity unit.
1. Information stored on your device
The App stores the following only on your iPhone:
- Contraction timing session (start/end times)
- Optional preferences such as first baby vs subsequent birth
- Whether you have accepted the medical disclaimer / completed onboarding
- Haptics preference
We do not operate an account system and we do not upload your contraction or pregnancy details to our own servers (the App has no backend in the current version).
2. Health and medical information
Timing data and pregnancy-related preferences stay on your device. They are not used to personalise or target advertisements. The App is for informational timing only and is not medical advice.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is free and shows banner ads using Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect and process information such as device identifiers (where permitted), IP address, device/app information, and ad interaction data.

Where required (for example in the UK/EU), the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request advertising consent before personalised ads are shown.
4. App Tracking Transparency (Apple)
On iOS, the App may ask for permission to track across apps and websites owned by other companies, solely to support advertising. You can refuse.
5. Children
The App is intended for adults who are pregnant or supporting someone in labour. It is not directed at children.
6. Data retention and deletion
Reset the session in the App, or delete the App, to remove local timing data.
